Strandhotel Wangerooge — Beach Hotel Complex

Wangerooge, East Frisian Islands, Germany

ETNF's founding project — an ambitious 4-star beach hotel complex on the only available development site on the beach promenade of Wangerooge, the easternmost of the Frisian Islands and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Wattenmeer.

Designed by Arin Burda Architects Partnership, Berlin, the project was pre-approved by the municipality and conceived as a landmark development for the island — which, despite over one million visitors per year, had significantly less hotel capacity than comparable North Sea islands.
